Annamalai University All India Medical Entrance Exam

AU AIMEE is entrance level test conducted at selected centres in Tamilnadu by Annamalai University. It is for the candidates who intend to seek admission for the self-financing medical programmes offered by the university. This medical entrance test is conducted for the following courses:

MBBS
BDS
BPT
B. Sc (Nursing)
B. Pharm

AIMEE is based on the syllabus of standard XIIth prescribed by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, conducted on the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology). Each of the three papers is of 300 marks. The university makes the application forms available by April and conducts exam in the mid of June every year.

Some suggestions for the students to prepare well for the exam:

Plain old hard work is the only pertinent way to crack the entrance test. Make sure the entire syllabus for the test is handy. Acquire a set of standard textbooks. Candidates should ideally graduate to other books after having cleared the basics.
For those who think they need an external source of discipline, joining a coaching centre is a good idea. Not only do they provide the candidates with a schedule to follow on a daily/weekly basis, they also help in assessing and gauging against other students in the centre. It would be ideal if the candidate can form a study group comprising of bright students.
Old question papers are a gold mine of marks. It is a well-known fact that at least 10 to 30 percent of the questions in most pre-medical entrance exams including the AIIMS are repeated. Do not miss the opportunity to answer all such question correctly.
Attempting at least 200-300 questions on a daily basis is the easiest way to get top ranks. This technique adds necessary knowledge, refreshes memory and corrects previously retained incorrect concepts and facts. Take as many simulated tests as possible, emulating the actual examination’s timings and atmosphere.
