Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research ( JIPMER )

            Jawaharlal Institute Of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research, popularly known as JIPMER 2019is an institute of national importance under Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. It is one of the medical entrance of highest importance in India. The JIPMER MBBS 2019 exam will be conducted on 2nd June 2019. JIPMER 2019is a computer-based online entrance test conducted for MBBS programme, across various cities, enlisted in the official site. There are two college campuses of JIPMER, one in Pondicherry and other in Karaikal. JIPMER has two campuses - the main campus is located in Pondicherry; the other campus is at Karaikal. There are a total of 200 seats under JIPMER 2019 UG exam - 150 seats at the Pondicherry campus and 50 seats at the Karaikal campus.

            Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Pondicherry (JIPMER) under Government of India since the year 1956, is one of the leading Medical Institutions of India, whereas JIPMER has started its JIPMER Karaikal, from the academic session 2016-17 with a yearly intake of 50 students. There are no seats available through AIPMT/NEET or AIIMS to get into JIPMER. One needs to clear JIPMER 2019only for this. The entrance examination is held once a year in June in Pondicherry, Chennai, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Thiruvananthapuram and other metropolitan cities for admission to the MBBS course that commences from July of the same year. 

JIPMER 2021 Tie-Breaking Policy

JIPMER 2019 Tiebreaking Criteria :

            In case two or more candidates secure the same percentile, then their rank in the JIPMER merit list will be determined by applying the tiebreaking criteria in the order given below:

  • Negative Marks: Candidate who will submit less number of negative responses will be preferred over the one which has more.
  • Percentile in Biology: Candidate who has secured a better percentile in the Biology section of JIPMER 2019 entrance exam will be placed on a higher merit order than the ones with lower merit percentile.
  • Percentile in Chemistry: If the above two criteria fail, then the candidate with greater percentile in Chemistry will be placed higher in the merit list.
  • Percentile in Physics: If the tie still resists, then the candidates’ Physics percentile score will be taken into consideration to break the tie.
  • Percentile in English & Comprehension: If the tie still fails to break then candidates’ percentile score in the aforementioned sections will be taken into account. Candidate with higher percentile in this subject will be put higher in the order of merit.
  • Percentile in Logical & Quantitative Reasoning: If the tie still doesn’t break, then the percentile scores in Logical & Quantitative Reasoning section will be considered. One with higher percentile in this particular section will be put above those with lesser percentile scores.
  • Age: If all other factors fail to break the tie, then the candidate senior in age will be put higher in the order of merit list over the younger ones.
