Indira Gandhi Government College, Tezu was established in 1986. The College is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University (a Central University), Itanagar (formerly Arunachal University). The College has duly been recognized by the University Grants Commission under the UGC Act and is accredited by NAAC with B+ Grade.

Indira Gandhi Government College is the third largest College of the State came into existence in Tezu, a picturesque town, Head Quarters of Lohit District of Arunachal Pradesh. The College caters to the higher educational needs of six districts of the eastern part of the State.
