Veterinary College and Research Institute, Orathanadu

The Government of Tamilnadu had issued orders for the establishment of a new Veterinary College and Research Institute at Orathanadu, Thanjavur as per the G.O. Ms. No. 134, Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries (AH-6) Department dated 09/11/2011.Thanjavur district. To start the B.V.Sc & A.H degree programme initially six departments viz., Veterinary Anatomy, Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry, Animal Genetics, Animal Nutrition, Livestock Production and Management and Instructional Livestock Farm Complex have been established fully with required manpower, equipments and floor space as per norms of Veterinary Council of India (VCI). A total of 40 students have been admitted and the classes have been handled from 20.09.2012.
