All India Bar Examination ( AIBE )

The objective of The All India Bar Examination (AIBE) is to examine an advocate's capability to practice the profession of law in India. The AIBE will assess skills at a basic level, and is intended to set a minimum benchmark for admission to the practice of law; it addresses a candidate’s analytical abilities and understanding basic knowledge of law. After passing the examination candidate will be awarded "Certificate of Practice" by the Bar Council of India. AIBE will be conducted in 40 cities all across India. Candidates will have 11 languages to choose for attempting the examination. Examination pattern will be multiple choice question and it will be open book exam. The notification bringing the All India Bar Examination into force was passed by the Legal Education Committee and the members of the Bar Council of India at duly constituted meetings on April 10, 2010, and April 30, 2010.

AIBE 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for AIBE XIII 2018, all candidates must be aware of the eligibility criteria set by the conducting body, Bar Council of India. It is compulsory for all the candidate to meet the eligibility criteria to apply for the application form. After clearing the eligibility criteria applicant can apply for AIBE XIII 2018. Here are the Eligibility Criteria of AIBE XIII 2018, given as follows:

Nationality

  • Candidate must be a citizen of India.

Academic Qualification :

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidate should possess the full-time LL.B degree from any institution from any state which is recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI).
  • Minimum Marks: There are no minimum marks criteria in the qualifying examination.
  • Attempts: Candidates can appear as many times as it requires. There is no restriction on numbers of attempts.
  • All candidates those completed their bachelor’s degree in LL.B after 1st July 2011 onwards are eligible to apply irrespective of their enrollment for more than two years as an advocate on a State Bar Council.

Other Qualification:

  • It is necessary to be enrolled as an advocate with a State Bar Council.
  • Candidate must have the Advocate Admit Card/Enrollment Card issued by the State Bar Council.
  • Candidates those come under the reserved category candidates must have to upload the Category Certificate at the time of registration.

Some Instructions regarding AIBE Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates those should not comply with the eligibility prescribed by the State Bar Council are advised not to apply.
  • If any candidate will find to be ineligible in later stages, their candidature will be canceled.
