UPSC Indian Forest Services ( IFS ) Exam

Indian Forest Service (IFS) Exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) once in a year. UPSC IFS (Indian Forest Service) Exam 2017 will be conducted in two major phases i.e. Civil Services Examination (Preliminary) and Indian Forest Service Examination (Main). For appearing in Indian Forest Service Examination (Main) it is essential to qualify the Civil Services Examination (Preliminary).

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued notification for the recruitment of 110 posts in Indian Forest Service’s Examination 2017. Part: A - IFS Preliminary Examination Syllabus

Paper- I: General Knowledge

  1. Current Event of National and International importance.
  2. History of India and Indian National Movement.
  3. Indian and world Geography.
  4. Indian polity and Governance.
  5. Economic and social Development.
  6. General Science.
  7. General Issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-Diversity and Climate Change.

Paper – II: General Studies

  1. Comprehension.
  2. Interpersonal Skills including Communication Skills.
  3. Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability.
  4. Decision Making and Problem Solving.
  5. General Mental Ability.
  6. Basic Numeracy, Data Interpretation.
