The Constitution can be amended in three ways:
(i) Amendment by simple majority of the Parliament
(ii) Amendment by special majority of the Parliament
(iii) Amendment by special majority of the Parliament and the ratification of half of the state legislatures.

(i) Article 360 authorises the President to declare financial emergency if he is satisfied that the financial stability or credit of India or of any of its parts is in danger.
(ii) In this type of emergency, salaries and allowances of any class of persons serving State or Union, including judges of the Supreme Court and High Court can be reduced by an order of the President.
(iii) This type of emergency has not been declared in India so far.

The 42nd Amendment Act of 1976 transferred five subjects to Concurrent List from State List, that is, education, forests, weights and measures, protection of wild animals and birds, and administration of justice; constitution and organisation of all courts excepts the Supreme Court and the high courts

'Magna Carta' is the Charter of Rights issued by King John of England in 1215 under pressure from the barons. This is the first written document relating to the Fundamental Rights of citizens.

iii) Both the Supreme Court and the High Courts are empowered to issue five kinds of writs.
iv) They are Habeas Corpus, Mandamus, Prohibition, Certiorari and Quo Warranto.

List of Fundamental Duties:
Article 51A declares it to be the duty of every citizen of India.
(i) To abide by the constitution and respect its ideals and institutions, the National Flag and the National Anthem.
(ii) To cherish and follow the noble ideals which inspired the national struggle for freedom.
(iii) To uphold and protect the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India.
(iv) To defend the country and render national service when called upon to do so.
(v) To value and preserve the rich heritage of our composite culture.
(vii) To protect and improve the natural environment including forests, lakes, rivers and wildlife, and to have compassion for living creatures.
(viii) To develop scientific temper, humanism and the spirit of inquiry and reform.
(ix) To safeguard public property and to abjure violence

v) Article 18 : Abolition of titles except military and academic.
Right to freedom
i) Article 19 : Freedom of speech and expression assembly association, movement, residence and profession.
ii) Article 20 : Protection in respect of conviction for offences.
iii) Article 21 : Protection of life and personal liberty.
iv) Article 21A : Right to elementary education.
v) Article 22 : Protection against arrest and detention in certain cases.
Right against exploitation
i) Article 23 : Prohibition of traffic in human beings and forced labour
ii) Article 24 : Prohibition of employment of children in factories, etc.
Rights to Religion
i) Aticle 25 : Freedom of conscience and free profession, practice and propagation of religion.
ii) Article 26 : Freedom to manage religious affairs.
iii) Article 27: Freedom from payment of taxes for promotion of any religion.
iv) Aricle 28 : Freedom from attending religious instruction or worship in certain educational insitutions.
cultural & Educational Rights
i) Article 29 : Protection of language, script and culture of minorities.
ii) Article 30 : Right of minorities to establish and administer educational institutions.
Right to Constitutional remedies
iii) Article 32: It allows individuals to seek redressal for the violation of their fundamental rights.
