Anaerobic respiration takes place without oxygen. Glucose is converted into ethanol (in plants) or lactate (in some bacteria).
C6H12O6 ⟶ 2CO2 + 2 C2H5OH + Energy (ATP)

(i) It is a system of electron carrier complex located on the inner membrane of mitochondria.
(ii) As the electrons with energy move through the system, ATP is formed. This is called oxidative phosphorylation.

Functions of Mitochondria :
