Dairy Farm Management. It is the management of animals for milk and its products for human consumption. Cows, buffaloes, goats and sheep are the animals that we would expect in a dairy. The milk yield varies with the species. Cows and buffaloes generally give more milk than goats and sheep.

(i) Plant breeding / Raising of new varieties of a crop
(ii) High yield, disease resistance, semi dwarfness,high protein content.

(a) Mutations can be induced by
(i) use of chemicals or
(ii) use of radiation like gamma radiation.
(b) After inducing mutations, there are two steps:
(i) Selection of plants that have describle character as a source for breeding and
(ii) Hybridisation of the selected plants.

During flowering seasons, the honey-bees visit a number of flowers in search of edible pollen and nectar; since they collect nectar from a large number of flowers, honey collection improves during flowers seasons.

(ii) Bacterial Disease - Citrus canker,Blight of rice
(iii) Viral Disease - Tobacco mosaic,Turnip mosaic

Blue revolution is a movement lanched to increase the production of fish.Freshwater fish: catla and Rohu. Marine water fish: Helsa and sardines.

Agriculturists have developed insect-pest resistant varieties of crops with characteristic features like
(i)Hairy leaves and solid stems.
(ii)Nectar-less varieties of cotton.
(ill) High aspartic acid and low nitrogen and sugar content lead to resistance to stem.
(iv) Improving protein content and quality.

Successful bee keeping
It requires the following considerations:
(i) Knowledge of the nature and habits of bees.
(ii) Selection of suitable location of keeping beehives.
(iii) Catching and hiving of swarms.
(iv) Management of beehives at different seasons.
(v) Handling and collection of honey and beewax.

(a) Plant breeding is the purposeful manipulation of plant species in order to create desired plant types that are suited for cultivation, give better yield and are disease-resistant.
The two steps in classical plant breeding are:
(i) Crossing or hybridisation of purelines.
(ii) Artificial selection of plants with desirable traits.
(b) Mutation breeding involves inducing mutations artificially and selecting and using the plants that have the' desirable characters for further breeding.

(c) Through biofortification, some common food plants have been enriched with those micronutrients, which used to be deficient in them.
