Plastic disposal:
The safest way of plastic disposal is SR principle. Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover and Landfill.
Refuse:
i) The best thing to do is to avoid using plastic products.
ii) One-time use throwaway plastics can be often be avoided.
Reduce:
i) Reducing the amount of plastic we use is important.
ii) If we use fewer plastics, we will create less plastic waste.
iii) Check for substitutes before buying a plastic product,
Reuse:
i) Possible products made of plastics can be used again and again.
ii) Don't throw it out after one use if possible.
Recycle:
i) It is better to recycle plastic waste.
ii) Then it will not be thrown away in landfills, opendumps or ending up as litter.
iii) Many thermoplastics can be recycled. They can be softened by heating and can be made into another article by recycling
iv) Thermosetting plastics cannot be recycled.
v) Plastics cannot be recycled for ever.
vi) Everytime plastic is melted and recycled it loses quality. This is called downcycling
Recover:
i) Solid waste can be converted into resources such as electricity and compost through thermal and biological means.
ii) Open burning of plastics releases toxic pollutants into air and soil which are harmful.
iii) The positive way is to burn plastics at high temperatures in incinerators and trapping the gases and collecting the toxic ash is widely used to produce energy.
Landfill:
i) Landfill is the most common way for plastics to he disposed of around the world.
ii) Landfills are huge holes where waste is buried to keep it separate from the environment

Advantages of Synthetic fibres:
i) Synthetic fibres do not wrinkle easily.
ii) They keep their colour and brightness for a much longer time compared to natural fibres.
iii) Synthetic fibres are stronger than silk and wool.
iv) Synthetic fibres like trampoline are elastic and have the properties to bounce.
v) They are durable and affordable.
vi) They are lustruous and easy to wash.
Disadvantages of synthetic fibres:
i) They are not heat resistant
ii) They catch fire easily.
iii) They melt on heating and stick on to the body.
iv) They absorb very little moisture
v) They do not allow air circulation making them hot and uncomfortable to wear during summer
