Water is essential for life. Without water there would be no life. We usually take water as granted for its purity, but we must ensure the quality-of water. Pollution of water originates from human activities. Through different paths, pollution reaches to groundwater. Easily identified source or place of pollution is called as point source, e.g. municipal and industrial discharge pipes, where pollutants enter the water source. Non-point sources of pollution are those where a source of pollution cannot be easily identified, e.g. agricultural run-off, acid rain, etc.

Plastic is non-biodegradable and causes environmental pollution as it takes several years to decompose. It is not environment friendly. When the plastic waste materials are burnt, they burn very slow. They do not get completely burnt. In the burning process, they release lots of poisonous fumes (gases) into the atmosphere causing air pollution. The animals eat up the polythene bags and wrappers of food along with the leftover food thrown on garbage dumps.
The methods to limit its consumption are:
Reducing its use; reusing it for some other purposes and recycling. It may reduce environmental pollution also.

We know that (time period)2 ∝ (radius of orbit)3
\({ T }_{ 1 }^{ 2 }={ Kr }_{ 1 }^{ 3 }\) . . . (i)
\({ T }_{ 1 }^{ 2 }={ Kr }_{ 2 }^{ 3 }\Rightarrow { T }_{ 2 }^{ 2 }=\left( \frac { { r }_{ 1 } }{ 2 } \right) ^{ 3 }\) .... (ii) \(\left[ \because { r }_{ 2 }=\frac { { r }_{ 1 } }{ { r }_{ 2 } } \right] \)
\(\frac { { T }_{ 1 }^{ 2 } }{ { T }_{ 2 }^{ 2 } } =\frac { { r }_{ 1 }^{ 3 } }{ { r }_{ 1 }^{ 3 } } \times 8\)
⇒ \({ T }_{ 2 }^{ 2 }=\frac { { T }_{ 1 }^{ 2 } }{ 8 } \)
⇒ \({ T }_{ 2 }=\frac { 1 }{ 2\sqrt { 2 } } \)
It means that time period reduces by \(\left( \frac { 1 }{ 2\sqrt { 2 } } \right) \) factor.
So, the days in a year will be approx. 129 instead of 365 days.
