Given that the area of the square field = 3136 m2.
ஃ The side of square field =\(\\ \sqrt { 3136 } \ m=\) 56 m
ஃ The perimeter of the square field = 4 x side
= 4 x 56
= 224 m

Remembering the rule,\(\sqrt { a } \times \sqrt { b } =\sqrt { a } \times \sqrt { b } \)
\(\sqrt { 12 } \times \sqrt { 3 } =\sqrt { 12\times 3 } =\sqrt { 36 } =\sqrt { { 6 }^{ 2 } } =6\)

We can write this as \(\sqrt { 42.25 } =\sqrt { \cfrac { 4225 }{ 100 } } =\cfrac { \sqrt { 4225 } }{ \sqrt { 100 } } \)
Now, it is easy to compute the square root of the whole number 4225, without any botheration of decimal symbol.
\(\sqrt { 4225 } =65\) and so, we now get \(\sqrt { 42.25 } =\sqrt { \cfrac { 42.25 }{ 100 } } =\cfrac { \sqrt { 4225 } }{ \sqrt { 100 } } =\cfrac { 65 }{ 10 } \)
Th is is another way of tackling problems of square root of decimal numbers instead of long division method.

(3.7 x 10-5)(2 x 10-3) = 7.4 x 10-8

(- 2)5´(- 2)-3 = (-2) 5 - 3 = ( - 2) 2 = - 2 x - 2 = 4 .
