The following epidermal cells are found in plants
(i) Cuticle They reduce surface transpiration.
(ii) Stomata Exchange of gases and transpiration.
(iii) Stem hair For reducing temperature changes and rate of transpiration.
(iv) Glandular hair Various secretions.
(v) Prickles Protect from grazing animals.
(vi) Root hair Absorb water

Difference between lenticels and stomata are

Lenticles	Stomata
These are present in old stems and roots.	they are found in young stems and leaves.
These are found in cork tissues.	Stomata are found in the epidermis.
These contain a number of complementary cells.	A stomata has two guard cells.
They remain open permanently.	They open and close in response to turgidity to their guard cells.

Differences between dicot and monocot leaves

Dicot leaf (Dorsivenytral)	Monocot leaf (Isobilateral)
The upper surface is darker green as compared to lower surface.	The two surfaces have shade of green colour
The upper surfaces has larger and thick walled cells as compared to those of lower epidermis.	The epidermis cells are similiar on the two surfaces of the leaf.
Silica does not occur on the ourter wall of epidermal cells.	Silica deposition is common on the outer wall of epidermal cells.

A well-developed pith is present in dicot stem and monocot roots.

In gymnosperms , Vessel elements are not present in xylem, whereas , these are main constituents in angiosperms . In the phloem of gymnosperms, companion cells are not associated with the sieve elements . In angiosperms , companion cells are associated with the sieve elements of phloem.
