(i) Such practices of pest and pathogen control although help in increasing the agricultural yield and meet the increasing food demand of the ever increasing population but however they should be allowed and continued only after proper scrutiny and analysis so that the harm to the non target benificial organisms and the environment is minimum.
(ii) Biological control methods of pests and disease control should be preferred in place of the chemical control. The latter are non specific and costly and cause biological magnification while the biocontrol methods are the natural methods of pest and pathogen control and involve the use of natural
predators (e.g., bacteria, fungi) or their products because they are specified and do not harm the non target organisms. For example lady bird beetles brings about the biocontrol of aphid by feeding upon them and Trichoderma a fine living fungus exerts biocontrol on a number of plant pathogens due to its antifungal and antibacterial activity.
(iii) Ethical values with regard to the safety of environment have not been kept in mind.

Agriculturists have developed insect-pest resistant varieties of crops with characteristic features like
(i)Hairy leaves and solid stems.
(ii)Nectar-less varieties of cotton.
(ill) High aspartic acid and low nitrogen and sugar content lead to resistance to stem.
(iv) Improving protein content and quality.

Single cell protein is the large quantities of biomass produced by culturing single type of cells or microorganisms which serve as food specially rich in protein, fats, carbohydrates, minerals and vitamines.
Importance:
(i) It serves as rich source of protein in human diet.
(ii) It reduces pressure on agricultural production system for the supply of protein requirement.
(iii) It helps in reducing environmental pollution

Spirulina-a cyanobacterium or blue green algae.
Methylophilus methylotrophus-a bacterium.

(ii) Plant Tissue culture is one of the methods widely used for this purpose especially for orchids.

(i) We can increase production of dairy products by better management practices including modern methods of storage and processing of milk products.
(ii) We can increase milk production by cross breeding native cattle with improved varieties which yield large quantity of better quality milk.
