TNTET 2026 – Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test என்பது தமிழ்நாட்டில் அரசு மற்றும் அரசு அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட தனியார் பள்ளிகளில் ஆசிரியராக பணிபுரிய விரும்பும் அனைவருக்கும் மிக முக்கியமான தகுதித் தேர்வாகும். இத்தேர்வை தமிழ்நாடு ஆசிரியர் ஆட்சேர்ப்பு வாரியம் (TRB) ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் நடத்துகிறது.

தேர்வுத் தாள்கள்
இத்தேர்வுகள் இரண்டு தாள்களைக் கொண்டது. தேர்வு வினாக்கள் அனைத்தும் ஒரு மதிப்பெண் (சரியான விடையைத் தேர்வு செய்க) வினாக்களாக இருக்கும். ஒவ்வொரு தாளுக்கும் மொத்த மதிப்பெண்கள் 150. ஒவ்வொரு தேர்வுக்குமான காலம் 180 நிமிடங்கள்.
இத்தேர்வில் பொதுப்பிரிவினர் 60% மதிப்பெண்களும், இடஒதுக்கீட்டுப்பிரிவினர் 55% மதிப்பெண்களும் பெற்றால் தேர்ச்சி பெற்றவர்களாக கருதப்படுவர்.

TEACHER ELIGIBILITY TEST FOR INSERVICE TEACHERS - 2026 NOTIFICATION
Applications are invited for Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), Paper - I and Paper - II only from the eligible working Teachers who are appointed on or before 01.09.2025 as SGT, BT Assistant and other Equivalent cadre Teachers on Time Scale/Consolidated/Part-time pay under the Directorate of School Education / Directorate of Elementary Education / Most Backward Class Department / Adi-Dravida Welfare Department / Tribal Welfare Department / Chennai Corporation / Coimbatore Corporation / Madurai Corporation / Forest Department / Differently Abled Department / Other Departments, Government, Government Aided and Unaided Recognized Private Schools of State Board and Other Boards etc., in Tamil Nadu for the year 2025 through online mode only till 20.12.2025.

2. Eligibility to Write Teacher Eligibility Test for Inservice Teachers (2025)
- Currently working Teachers who are appointed on or before 01.09.2025 as SGT, BT Assistant and other equivalent cadre Teachers on Time Scale/Consolidated/Part-time pay of schools in Tamil Nadu.
3. Educational Qualification for Paper-I and Paper-II:
- 1. Teacher Eligibility Test for Inservice Teachers shall be conducted to the Secondary Grade Teachers / Special Teachers / Physical Education Teachers / BT Assistants / BRTEs / Other equivalent cadre posts and the Special Education Teachers (IEDSS) who are working on Time scale/Consolidated/Part-time of pay under the Government and Government Aided Schools.
- Also, the Secondary Grade Teachers / Special Teachers / Physical Education Teachers / BT Assistant Teachers working under self – finance unit of Aided Schools and Unaided Recognized Private Schools are eligible for this Teacher Eligibility Test.
- The Educational qualifications defined under the Special Rules for the Tamil Nadu School Educational Subordinate Services and mentioned in the G.O.(Ms).No.13,School Education [SE3(1)] Department, dated:30.01.2020 for the Secondary Grade Teachers / Special Teachers / Physical Education Teachers / BT Assistants / BRTEs / Other equivalent cadre posts; the educational qualifications for the Special Education -3- Teachers (IEDSS) mentioned in the G.O.(Ms).No.144,School Education [SE3(2)] Department, dated:17.06.2025; the educational qualifications defined under the Special Rules for the Tamil Nadu Elementary Education Subordinate Services mentioned in the G.O.(Ms).No.12,School Education [EE1(1)] Department, dated:30.01.2020 and all the educational qualifications defined for the appointment of Teachers by the NCTE.

Note:
- Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology of Teaching and Learning, relevant to the age group of 6–11 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the qualities of a good facilitator.
- Language I will focus on the proficiencies related to the Medium of Instruction. The candidate has to choose any one of the languages mentioned in Sl.No. (ii) above.
- Language II – English will focus on language elements, communication and comprehension abilities.
- Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on concepts, problem-solving abilities and pedagogical understanding.
- The questions in TET Paper I will be based on the syllabus prescribed for Classes I–V.

Note:
- Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology relevant to the age group of 11–14 years, understanding characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interactions and qualities of a good facilitator.
- Language–I will focus on proficiencies related to Medium of Instruction. The candidate must choose one language from Sl.No. (ii) of the table above.
- Language–II (English) will focus on language elements, communication and comprehension abilities.
- Mathematics & Science / Social Science will focus on concepts, problem-solving abilities and pedagogical understanding.
- Questions in TET Paper–II will be based on the State syllabus for Classes VI–VIII.

5. Examination Fee:
- The Examination fee is Rs.600/- for each application for all candidates except SC, SCA, ST and Differently Abled Persons. For SC, SCA, ST and Differently Abled Persons, the fee is Rs.300/- for each application. Candidates must enter the correct Community / Category of Disability. Once the payment is made, it will not be refunded.
- Separate applications must be submitted for Paper-I and Paper-II, each with separate fees.
- SMS alert regarding successful payment will be sent to the candidate’s registered mobile number.
- Payment must be made online only through the Payment Gateway (Net Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card).
- Offline payments in any form, such as Demand Draft / Postal Order, will not be accepted.
- Failure to pay the prescribed fee on time along with the online application will result in rejection of the application after due process.
- Fee remitted shall not be refunded or adjusted for future tests / examinations under any circumstances.
- If a candidate pays the fee more than one time, the extra amount will not be refunded.

- Candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I / Paper-II will be issued the respective Teacher Eligibility Test Certificate.
- If any claim of the candidate is found incorrect, the TET certificate for Inservice Teachers will become invalid.
7. Written Examination:
- The date, time, and examination centre will be mentioned in the Hall Ticket. Hall Tickets for eligible candidates will be uploaded on the official TRB website. Candidates are advised to visit theTeachers Recruitment Board Websiteand download the Hall Ticket.
- Hall Tickets will not be sent to the candidates by post or any other mode.
- No written communication will be sent to candidates individually.
- The decision of the Teachers Recruitment Board regarding the candidate's eligibility to appear for the examination will befinal.
8. Scribes:
Differently Abled candidates / Visually Impaired candidates / eligible Orthopedically Impaired candidates will be allowed assistance of scribes based on the claims made in the online applications and submission of Disability Certificate / Medical Board Certificate.
9. Examination Results:
The Qualified list of Candidates in Teacher Eligibility Test Paper – I and Paper – II will be published in the website of Teachers Recruitment Board viz. http://www.trb.tn.gov.in.
10. Centre for Examination:
Examination will be held in all districts. The details of examination centre will be given in the hall ticket. Candidates should appear for the examination at their own expenses. The Board reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of examination centres and to re-allot the candidates for administrative reasons.
11. How to Apply:
- Candidates should apply only through online mode in the TRB website (http://www.trb.tn.gov.in). No other mode of application will be entertained.
- Use separate application for Paper-I and Paper-II with separate fees.
- Candidates must upload the Service Certificate as given in Annexure – I without fail.
- Candidates should keep ready their scanned recent colour passport size photograph (20–60 KB) and signature (10–30 KB). Applications without photo, signature, Service Certificate will be rejected.
- Certificates must be uploaded in Jpg/Jpeg/Png format of size 60–120 KB.
- A valid e-mail id and Mobile Number are mandatory and must remain active for future communication.
- All particulars entered in the online application will be treated as final. No changes will be allowed after submission.
- The online application can be submitted till 20.12.2025; after that the link will be disabled.
- Candidates must carefully fill the application and upload the correct documents.
12. Uploading the documents / certificates:
Candidates should upload the required Documents / Certificates for proof in respect of all the claims made in the application. If the required documents are not uploaded, the application will be rejected after due process.

13. Action against candidates found guilty of misconduct:
Candidates are warned that they should not furnish false particulars or suppress any material information while filling the application form. They should not alter or tamper with any document or submit details based on fabricated documents. Any inaccuracy or discrepancy in the application will not be considered.
Without prejudice to criminal action or debarment, candidature will be cancelled at any stage if candidates indulge in any of the following:
- In possession of mobile phone, Bluetooth devices or electronic gadgets inside the exam premises, whether switched on or off.
- Involved in malpractices.
- Using unfair means in the examination hall.
- Canvassing in any form.
- Obtaining support for candidature by any means.
- Impersonation or arranging impersonation.
- Submitting fabricated or tampered documents.
- Making false statements or suppressing material information.
- Resorting to irregular or improper means in relation to the examination.
- Misbehaving in the exam hall with Supervisors, Invigilators or TRB representatives.
- Intimidating or causing bodily harm to TRB staff during conduct of the examination.
- Candidature may be cancelled for any other reason deemed sufficient by TRB.
14. Declaration Regarding Criminal Cases (Or) Disciplinary Cases:
- Candidates who declared pending criminal/disciplinary cases must upload FIR or charge memo / show cause notice. Failure to upload will lead to rejection.
- Candidates who declared conviction or disciplinary punishment must upload the relevant Court orders / release orders / proceedings. Failure to upload will result in rejection.
- If any criminal or disciplinary case is filed, or punishment imposed after submission of online application but before completion of recruitment, candidates must report to TRB immediately. Failure will lead to rejection and one-year debarment.
Any violation of instructions will lead to rejection of application and cancellation of candidature.
15. General Information:
- Candidates who do not possess the prescribed qualifications on the date of notification are not eligible.
- Candidates must ensure they meet eligibility criteria. Permission to write the exam does not mean eligibility is verified.
- TRB reserves the right to disqualify candidates attending TET Inservice without NCTE prescribed qualification.
- Incomplete applications or applications with false claims will be rejected and criminal action initiated.
- Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
- The decision of TRB in test/examination matters is final.
- Passing TET (Inservice) does not guarantee employment; it is only an eligibility test.
- TRB is not responsible for loss caused by dealings with unscrupulous elements.
- Candidates are responsible for entries made in the Online application. Errors made at browsing centers are not the responsibility of TRB.
- Candidates must upload all certificates/documents supporting their claims at the time of online application. Applications without documents will be rejected.
- Candidates must read all instructions in the notification, “Instructions to Candidates” and online application guidelines before applying.

16. Last date for submission of filled in application forms:
The last date for submission of filled-in Application Forms through online mode is till 20.12.2025. After that the online link will be disabled.
