Add Bullets or Numbering to a Paragraph
1. Select the paragraphs to which you want to add bullets or numbers.
2. Choose Type > Bulleted & Numbered Lists, and then click Apply Bullets or Apply Numbers.
The last used settings in the Bullets and Numbering dialog box are applied to the text.

To open or close the Tools panel
(i) Choose Window > Tools to close the Tools panel.
(ii) To reopen the Tools panel, choose Window > Tools again. (or)
(iii) Press Tab key (with any tool but the Type tool selected) to close all open panels, including the Tools panel.
(iv) To reopen those panels, press Tab again.
(v) We can also close a floating Tools panel by clicking its Close box.

Zooming allows you to quickly zoom in on, or get closer to, any object in your document.

The Page tool is used for creating different page sizes within a document.

If you place the cursor over any tool in the Tools panel without clicking, a tooltip appears displaying the tool's name and a keyboard shortcut in parentheses.

(i) The pasteboard is the gray area surrounding the document window.
(ii) You can place items on the pasteboard before actually inserting them on the page.

When you start InDesign for the first time, you see the default workspace called "Essentials", with the Control panel and Tools panel along the top and left side of the InDesign window.

A workspace is where your work is created. Workspaces typically include an area designated for creating a finished product, much like a painter would use a canvas to create a painting.

Orientation:
(i) Specify a page orientation for the document.
(ii) Landscape or Portrait.

(ii) Page layout software includes tools that allow you to easily position textand graphics on document pages.
