1.
(i) The government of India passed in 1951 the State Financial Corporations Act and SFCs were set up in many states.
(ii) SFCs are mainly intended for the development of small and medium industrial units within their respective states.

The functions of IDBI fall into two groups,
(i) Assistance to other financial institutions; and
(ii) Direct assistance to industrial concerns either on its own or in participation with other institutions.

(i) RBI introduced the Banking Ombudsman Scheme in 1995.
(ii) Under this scheme, the complainants can file their complaints in any form, including online and can also appeal to the Ombudsman against the awards and the other decisions of the Banks.

The banks can borrow from the RBI by keeping eligible securities as collateral at the time of need or crisis, when there is no other source.

(ii) Banks pay higher interest on time deposits.
(iii) These deposits can be withdrawn only after a specific time period by providing a written notice to the bank.
