SNAKES AND LADDERS
Make a board-game just like' snakes and ladders' with 10 - 10 grid boxes.
The mouth of the snake will represent the faulty food habit or faulty method of cooking. Its tail will represent the deficiency disease caused or loss of any nutrient in food.
Similarly, the box at the base of a ladder will represent healthy food habit or healthy method of cooking. Its upper end will represent the beneficial effect of that habit. An example is given as Fig. Complete the board and play with your friends.

The presence of proteins in food items is tested by using following steps :
Step I: Take a small quantity of food item in a test-tube.
Step II: Add 10 drops of water into it and shake the test-tube
Step III: With the help of dropper, add two drops of copper sulphate solution.
Step IV: Add 10 drops of caustic soda solution to the test-tube and shake the test tube and leave it for a few minutes.
The appearance of violet colour indicates the presence of proteins in the food item.

(a) The main sources of calcium minerals are milk, cheese, eggs and green vegetables. It also found in flour and bread.
It helps in formation of bone, teeth and blood clotting.
(b) Magnesium is found in cheese, green vegetable, bread and fish.
It helps in energy transfer and muscles activity. It works with calcium and vitamin-C.
(c) Potassium is found in meat, fruit, eggs, milk, etc.
The main function of potassium is balance in tissue fluid and blood. It also helps in nerve impulse conduction.
(d) Zinc is mainly found in onions, liver and green vegetables.
It works as a enzyme activator in our body.
(e) Iron is found in green vegetables, fresh fruits, etc.
Iron is needed to make haemoglobin present in red blood cells which carry oxygen from the lungs to the body parts.

(a) Manvi had not eaten any food since morning. She was tired as no energy giving food has been eaten by her. Lack of food leads to no energy and restlessness.
