There are following adaptive features of a lion that help it in hunting:
(i) Light brown colour of skin, which helps it to hide in dry grasslands when it hunts for prey.
(ii) Eyes in front of face, which help it to know the correct location of its prey.
(iii) Powerful paws and long claws, which help it . to catch and kill the prey

(i) Prey: An animal hunted or caught for food.
(ii) Predator: An organism that lives by preying on other organisms is called a predator.
(iii) Acclimatization: It is the process in which an individual organism adjusts to a gradual change in its environment (such as a change in temperature, humidity, photoperiod, or pH) allowing it to maintain performance across a range of environmental conditions. Acclimation occurs in a short period of time (days to weeks), and within the organism's lifetime
(iv) Adaptation: In biology, an adaptation, also called an adaptive trait, is a trait with a current functional role in the life history of an organism that is maintained or developed by means of natural selection. Adaptation refers to both the current state of being adapted and to be in the dynamic evolutionary process that leads to the adaptation.
(v) Stimuli: An agent, action, or condition that elicits or accelerates a physiological or psychological activity response.

Cactus is mostly found in the deserts.
It has the following special features to adapt itself to survive in the desert :
(i) Leaves are modified into the spines to reduce the rate of loss of water.
(ii) Stem becomes green and fleshy to take over the function of photosynthesis.
(iii) Stem is also covered with a thick layer of wax to retain water.
(iv) Its roots go deeper into the soil for better absorption of water.

(a) Ria and her family were suffering from these symptoms because they are present in high altitude region where oxygen supply is limited.
(b) (i) After few days, everybody's body has adjusted or adapted to the conditions of mountain region.
(ii) When we go from plains to mountains, our body faces difficulties due to sudden changes it is exposed to. After few days however, they all get acclimatised to these sudden changes.
(c) Ria is observant and sincere girl who tries to learn from her experience and gathers information about changes that ignite her curiosity.

A moving car though moves is not considered as a living organism because of the following reasons:
(i) Living organisms have the ability to move on their own, whereas a car moves by the burning of fuels like diesel and petrol.
(ii) Like all living organisms, a car does not show any other living characteristics like respiration, digestion, reproduction or growth.

(b) It is called a habitat. It provides food, water and shelter, etc., to all living organisms

(i) terrestrial (ii) aquatic
(d) Leaves of cactus present in desert are thorn like (spines) on reduced to green fleshy stem, to reduce rate of transpiration while leaves of trees like deodars have cone or pine-shaped leaves to let show falling on them slide off easily.

(a) The plant responded to the stimuli of light. Since, light was coming through window so, plant grew towards that direction.
(b) (i) Yes, all living things responds to changes around them. These changes are called stimulus and our reaction towards them is response.
(ii) Folding/Closing of 'touch-me-not' plant leaves when someone touches its leaves closing of eyes due to sudden bright light
(c) She is careful, responsible and observant. She is also curious about unique behaviours and has an inquistive/enquiring nature.
