The following rights were granted to the Indian Princes and Chiefs.
(i) The British government declared that all the treaties and agreements would be honoured.
(ii) The Doctrine of Lapse was abandoned.
(iii) The Indian Princess were assured that their territories would never be annexed.
(iv) The right to adoption was recognized.

The "Charkha" represented India and it was put at the centre of the tricolour flag of the Indian National Congress adopted in 1931.

Social factors: Areas with better housing, education and health facilities are more populated than others.
Cultural factors: Places with cultural and religious importance attract more people than others.
Economic factors: Industrial areas are more populated as they provide employment opportunities.
