Triticale is the man made cereal. It was developed by crossing Triticum aestivum (wheat) and secale sereale (Rye).

The two breeds of cattle are:
(i) Karan swiss obtained from following cross. Sahiwal cows x Brown swiss bull.
(ii) Karan fries obtained from a cross- Tharparkar x Holstein Friesian.

The low farm produce indicates a very low productivity per unit. New modern techniques for management farm and live stock and also the breeding methods have to be developed to achieve the improvement in productivity and quality.

Plant tissue culture It is a technique of producing entire plants from a few plant cells or tissues by growing them in an artificial medium, The method used for micro- propagation or tissue culture is as given below:
Methodology of Plant Tissue Culture

(i) Beekeeping or apiculture is an important enterprise of agriculture concerned with the maintenance of hives of honey bees for the commercial production of honey and wax.
(ii) Honey and wax.
(iii) (i) Good knowledge of the nature and habit of bees;
(ii) suitable location;
(iii) catching and having of swarms;
(iv) skills for management of bee hives during different flowering seasons;
(v) handling and collection of honey and wax.

Application of tissue culture technique
(1) This technique is applied for the rapid multiplication of desirable and rare plants.
(2) By this technique an indefinite number of plants can be produced
(3) From the culturing of virus free tissues of shoot apex of an infected plant it becomes possible to obtain virus free plant in a sufficient stock. The tissue culture technique has been used to obtain virus free potatoes and sugarcane.
(4) The technique (Embryo culture) is useful in overcoming seed dormancy, but also in producing viable plants from the cross which normally fail due to the death of immature embryos.
(5) The technique has been applied for obtaining large number of haploid and homozygous diploids.
(6) Somatic hybridization helps fusion of cells belonging to different families.
(7) This technique is also useful for genetic improvement of useful plants. 

Inland fishery involves the rearing of fishes in the specially designed breeding ponds near the rivers or other fresh-water natural sources. It involves the following steps:
(i) Breeding of good male and female culturable fishes in the breeding ponds either by natural breeding or induced breeding. In induced breeding, the male and female breeder fishes are injected with pituitary extract containing FSH and LH hormones (called Hypophysiation) which induce them to spawn within 24 hours. Fertilization occurs in the water so is external.
(ii) The fish seed (of fertilized eggs) are collected with the help of shooting net or benchi jal.(iii) The fertilized eggs are kept in hatching pits, called hapas, and youngs are called hatchlings.
(iv) Hatchlings are allowed to grow in hapas for about 3-14 days to form fry.
(v) Fries are allowed to feed and grow in the nursery ponds to form the fingerlings.
(vi) Fingerlings are allowed to attain full size in the still larger stocking ponds
(vii) Harvesting or fishing involves the capturing of fully-grown fishes.

Advantages of Poultry Farming. Poultry farming has many advantages:
1. Food. Poultry farming is related to the nutrition problem. It provides eggs and meat which are highly nutritious foods. They are rich sources of animal proteins, minerals and vitamins and contain a right kind of fats for good health. Egg taking can remove protein malnutrition seen in India specially among children.
2. Economic Uplift. Poultry farming contributes to the economic uplift of the farmers, provides employment to the attendants and furnishes job to the dealers in poultry products and inputs.
3. Manure. Poultry dropping mixed with litter form a rich manure. Increased crop yields resulting form the use of poultry manure would more than compensate for the grains consumed by the poultry birds.
4. Recreation. Poultry is also a means of recreation. Show of fancy chickens and cock-fighting have been popular with many people.
Poultry farming on commercial basis started in India around 1960 and now poultry farms are common around practically in all the cities. 

Resistance to Insect Pests
Resistance to insect pests is genetically controlled and manifested in the form of morphological, physiological or biochemical characteristics.
A few examples are given below:
(i) Wheat - Hairy leaves
Resistance to cereal leaf beetle.
(ii) Maize - High aspartic acid and low nitrogen and sugar contents

(i) Knowledge of the nature and habits of bees.
(ii) Selection of suitable location of keeping beehives.
(iii) Catching and hiving of swarms.
(iv) Management of beehives at different seasons.
(v) Handling and collection of honey and beewax.
