1.
Fertilisation is not an obligatory event for fruit production in certain plants as some fruits are also developed from unfertilised ovary called parthenocarpic fruits. These are seedless fruits, such as pomegranate, grapes, etc. Flowers of these plants are sprayed with a growth hormone that induces fruit developmenteven though fertilisation has not occurred. The ovules of such fruits, however, fail to develop into seeds.
2.
Sexual reproduction can generate variation in the population. These variations provide better chances of survival to the organisms in changing the environment. Thus, sexual mode of reproduction is considered a better mode of reproduction.
3.
i) The part A is seed and B are pericarps.
ii) The part of the flower which develops into seed and fruit is ovule and ovary, respectively
iii) The seeds germinate to produce new plants while pericarp is protective in function. It protects the young seed.

5.
Offsprings formed by sexual reproduction have better chance of survival due to the genetic variability . Sexual reproduction involves fusion of male and female gametes. As a result of this fusion (combination of DNA from two individuals of a species), new variants are formed. these variants can adapt to varied environmental conditions and thus, provide better chances of survival to the organism. Thus this statement is always true.
