Mutual Fund is a financial intermediary that pools the savings of investors for collective investment in diversified portfolio securities in the capital market and money market. Many banks like SBI,Indian Bank, eic., have set up mutual fund subsidiaries.

Crossing of a cheque refers to drawing two transverse parallel lines with or without any words. The lines are drawn on the face on the left top comer. A crossing is an instruction to a banker not to pay the cheque across the counter of the bank but to pay to a bank only or to the credit in the account of the payee.

The limitations of MICR cheque are:
(i) It is expensive because it requires superior quality paper and special ink.
(ii) Customers have to be educated in handling the MICR cheques and
(iii) Counterfoils are not permitted in the cheque books, which may cause inconvenience to the customers.

The important requisites of a cheque are;
(i) According to law a cheque must be in writing.
(ii) It is an order to pay the amount without any condition.
(iii) The amount of money to be paid must be certain and specified both in words and, figures in the cheque and
(iv) A cheque is valid if it bears the signature of the drawer.

Commercial banks started identifying and offering new and diversified financial services, They are purely other than banking services. Providing all such banking and other financial services is also called universal banking.

Crossing of cheque: Drawing two parallel transverse lines on the left top of the cheque. It implies that the money will not be paid over the counter but through bank account only.
