The balance of payments consists of two components namely, current account and capital account.
Current Account: The current account balance includes two components.
(i) Visible trade
(ii) Invisible trade
Capital Account: Capital account consists of three components.
(i) Private capital
(ii) Banking capital
(iii) Official capital

The measuring deficit (or) surplus in Balance of Payments are:
(i) Basic Balances
(ii) Net Liquidity Balances
(iii) Official Settlement Balance.

The components of Balance of Payments are:
(i) Current Account.
(ii) Capital Account.
(iii) Unilateral Payments Account
(iv) Official Settlement Account.

Capital account consists of three components:
(i) Private Capital
