The Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (ECGC) can coyer the commercial and political risks like insolvency of the buyer, rebellion or civil war in the importing country.This helps exporter's in securing export finance from banks. If the insurance is not taken, the bill cannot be discounted with the banks.

Import and Export (control) Act 1947 and Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act 1992 regulates the export trade. Goods subject to control cannot be exported without getting a valid export license. The exporter applies to the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) or Regional Licensing Authority in the prescribed form. If the authory is satisfied license will be issued.

Indent house are intermediaries specialised in a particular trade. They collect commission from the importer's for rendering their services. The importer enter into an agreement with the indent house, if he wants to take its services. Indent house is also called Indent firms or Import commission houses.

(v) Bill of sight
(vi) Port Trust Dues Receipt
(vii) Bill of Lading
(viii) Bill of Exchange

Bill of Lading:
This represents a document acknowledging receipt of goods on board for carrying them over to specified port of destination.
The contents of the Bill Lading are:
(i) Name of the ship
(ii) Date of shipment
(iii) Place of Boarding
(iv) Port of destination
(v) Name address of exporter
(vi) Name and address of importer
(vii) Description of Goods
(viii) Number of package
(ix) Distinctive mark on good
(x) Amount of freight
