(i) Biswajeet Guha has stated that the calculation of HDI neglected many important aspects of human development.
(ii) He has created four indices of HDI as HDI1, HDI2, HDI3, and HDI4. HDI1 is based on UNDP methodology as given in Human Development Report.
(iii) He has enlarged the scope of HDI by adding three more dimensions such as quality of life, poverty eradication, and urbanization.
(iv) Various countries including India are continuously making efforts to improve and enlarge the scope of available statistical information.

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)
As on now, the following monetary limits have been used for defining different kinds of industrial service units. However, these limits are subject to changes over time.
Manufacturing Enterprises:
(a) Micro Manufacturing Enterprises: The investment in plant and machinery does not exceed Rs.25 lakhs.
(b) Small Manufacturing Enterprises: The investment in plant and machinery is more than twenty five lakh rupees but does not exceed Rs.5 crores.
(c) Medium Manufacturing Enterprises: The investment in plant and machinery is more than Rs.5 crores but not exceeding Rs.10 crores.
Service Enterprises:
(a) Micro Service Enterprises: The investment in equipment does not exceed Rs.10 lakhs.
(b) Small Service Industries: The investment in equipment is more than Rs.10 lakhs but does not exceed Rs.2 crores.
(c) Medium Service Enterprises: The investment in equipment is more than Rs.2 crores but does not exceed Rs.5 crores.

(i) The medium scale industries play a significant role in the development of Indian economy.
(ii) However, these industries are suffering from various problem like lack of capital, lack of raw materials, lack of energy, lack of technical knowledge, limited market, lack of appropriate government policy etc.
5.
(i) The term green revolution refers to the renovation of agricultural practices.
(ii) During 1960's the traditional agricultural practices were gradually replaced by modern technology and agricultural practices.
(iii) The new technology was tried in 1960 - 61 as a pilot project in seven districts.
