Number formatting options are used to visually change the format of a numeric content. These formatting changes only for visual purpose, it does not change original value.

(i) Number format: Currency
(ii) Number format: Percent
(iii) Number format: Standard
(iv) Number format: Add Decimal
(v) Number format: Delete Decimal

(i) Merge cells
(ii) Bold
(iii) Font styles
(iv) Styles

A single column or row can be deleted by using the mouse:
(i) Select the column or row to be deleted.
(ii) Choose Edit ➝ Delete Cells from the menu bar.
(Or)
(iii) Right-click on the column or row header.
(iv) Choose Delete Columns or Delete Rows from the pop-up menu.

While writing a formula, in the cell address the $ symbol is used in front of a column name and row number, it will become an "Absolute Cell reference".

If cell addresses directly referred while constructing formulae, it is called as "Relative Cell reference".

Cell references are of two types
(i) Relative cell reference
(ii) Absolute Cell reference.

Negative numbers may be entered with a minus sign or within brackets

Active cell is identified by cell pointer. Cell pointer is located in cell A1, then A1 is called Home cell.

(i) Move to the First sheet
(ii) Move to the previous sheet
(iii) Move to Next sheet
(iv) Move to the Last sheet

Cell address is the combination of column heading and row number. For example, the intersection of column B and row 4 makes a cell B4.

Intersection of every row and column makes a box which is called as "Cell". Each cell has its unique address.

Spreadsheet is a software package and worksheet is a file created using spreadsheet software.

(i) Text Operator : In Calc, "&" is a text operator which is used to combine two or more text. Joining two different texts is also known as "Text Concatenation". An expression using the text operator has the following
syntax: text reference1 & text reference2.
(ii) Rows and Columns of spreadsheet : A row is a horizontal group of values within a table. It contains values for multiple fields, which are defined by columns. The rows are numbered from 1,2, 3.... OpenOffice Calc version 4.1.5 contains 10,48,576 rows.
A column is a vertical group of values within a table. It contains values from a single field in multiple rows. Each column is labelled as A, B, C, D ..... AA, AB, AC ....It contains 1024 columns.
