(i) It refers to equality before law and equal protection of law.
(ii) There was a sbong voice against this inhuman practice among workers for a long time.
(iii) Women's rights under the constitution of India mainly includes equality, dignity and freedom from discrimination. Additionally, India has various statutes governing the rights
of women.

(i) Children should be treated as individuals with fundamental human rights. Children are vulnerable.
(ii) There are root causes such as poverty, gender discrimination, broken families, behind the sale or trafficking of children.
(iii) Children are subjected to sale or trafficking for various reasons - economic exploitation, sexual exploitation, sexual abuse, drug trafficking and child labour. So children need special attention.

The UNO adopted the Rights of the child on 20th November, 1989. They are
(i) Right to life
(ii) Right to family environment
(iii) Right to Education
(iv) Right to benefit from Social security
(v) Right against sexual exploitation
(vi) Right against sale or trafficking
(vii) Right against other forms of exploitation like Child labour.

The fundamental rights are :
(i) Right to Equality
(ii) Right to Freedom
(iii) Right against Exploitation
(iv) Right to Freedom of Conscience and Religion
(v) Cultural and Educational Rights for minorities
(vi) Right to Constitutional Remedies

1. Right to equality.
2. Equality of opportunity in public employment.

4. Right to livelihood.
5. Prohibits trafficking, forced labour and child labour.
6. Article 39(d) ensures equal wages to male and female workers for equal work.
7. Reduction in Factory working Hours.
8. Compulsory Recognistion of Trade Unions.
9. Employment Exchange in India.
10. Employees State Insurance.
11. Minimum wages.
12. Coal and Mica Mines provident fund.

National Human Rights Commission:
(i) The National Human Rights Commission is an autonomous body constituted in 1993.
(ii) It consists of a chairman and few other members.
(iii) NHRC is responsible for the protection and promotion of human rights in India defined by the Act as rights relating to life, liberty, equality and dignity of the individual guaranteed by the Constitution or embodied in the international covenants.
Functions of NHRC:
(i) To inquire into the violation of human rights or negligence in the prevention of such violation by a Public servant.
(ii) To intervene in court proceedings relating to human rights.
(iii) To undertake and promote research in the field of human rights.
(iv) To engage in human rights education among various sections of society.
(v) To encourage the effects of NGOs and institutions working in the field of human rights.

(i) These are in the form of duties and responsibilities of citizens.
(ii) The original Constitution which came into force with effect from 26th January,1950 did not contain Fundamental Duties.
(iii) These were incorporated in the Constitution by the 42^nd Amendment Act in 1976.
FUNDAMENTAL DUTIES IN SCHOOLS:
(i) We follow the schools Rules and Regulation.
(ii) Respect for the Constitution and. ts ideals and institutions, the National Flag and the National Anthem.
(iii) To promote harmony and spirit of common brotherhood amongst all the people of India, transcending religious, to renounce practices derogatory to the dignity of women.
(iv) To develop the scientific temper, humanism and the spirit of inquiry and reform.
(v) To safeguard public property and to adjure from violence.
(vi) To strive towards excellence in all spheres of individual and collective activity.

(i) The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is a milestone document in the history of human rights.
(ii) It was drafted by the representatives with different legal and cultural back grounds from all regions of the world.
(iii) The Declaration was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in Paris on 10^th Act 1948.
(iv) There are 30 articles in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and it guarantees freedom of expression as well as civil, political, social, economic and cultural rights.
(v) The rights apply to all people, irrespective of their race, gender and nationality, as all people are born free and equal.
(vi) This general explanation of Human Rights by UDHR is not a legally binding document; however it has a political and moral importance and many of its guarantees have become standard norms today.
