3.
Find the value of x

4.
Find the complement of the following angles (1°= 60′ minutes, 1′ = 60′′ seconds)
70°
5.
Consider the given pairs of triangles and say whether each pair is that of congruent triangles. If the triangles are congruent, say ‘how’; if they are not congruent say ‘why’ and also say if a small modification would make them congruent:

6.
Consider the given pairs of triangles and say whether each pair is that of congruent triangles. If the triangles are congruent, say ‘how’; if they are not congruent say ‘why’ and also say if a small modification would make them congruent:

7.
In the figure, AB is parallel to CD, find x

8.
In the figure, AB is parallel to CD, find x

9.
Draw ΔPQR with sides PQ = 7 cm, QR = 8 cm and PR = 5 cm and construct its Orthocentre.
10.
The angles of the triangle are 3x–40, x+20 and 2x–10 then the value of x is ________.
40°
35°
50°
45°
11.
The interior angle made by the side in a parallelogram is 90° then the parallelogram is a ________.
rhombus
rectangle
trapezium
kite
12.
If the diagonal of a rhombus are equal, then the rhombus is a ________.
Parallelogram but not a rectangle
Rectangle but not a square
Square
Parallelogram but not a square
13.
In the given figure CE || DB then the value of x0 is ________.

45°
30°
75°
85°
14.
It is not possible to construct a triangle when its sides are ____________
8.2 cm, 3.5 cm, 6.5 cm
6.3 cm, 3.1 cm, 3.2 cm
7 cm, 8 cm, 10 cm
4 cm, 6 cm, 6 cm
1.
It is a quadrilateral
2.
It is not a parallelogram
3.
\(\angle XOZ+\angle OZY=180^0\) (angle of a straight line)
(x° - 20°) + 60° = 180°
x°+40° = 180°
x° = 180°- 40°
= 140°
The value of x = 140°
4.
Complement of 70° = 90° - 70°
=20°
5.
In \(\triangle ABC\ and\ \triangle EDF\)
AB = EF (Given)
\(\angle ABC=\angle EDF\) (Given)
\(\angle ACB=\angle EFD\) (Given)
By ASA congruency
\(\triangle ABC\cong\triangle EDF\)
6.
In the given figure BD bisect AC
In \(\triangle AOB\ and \triangle OCD\)
OA = OC (Given)
\(\angle AOB=\angle DOC\) (vertically opposite angles)
\(\angle B=\angle D\) (Given)
By ASA congruency \(\triangle AOB\cong\triangle OCD\)
7.
In the given figure AB II CD, AD is the transversal
\(\angle CDA=\angle BAD\)
= 53° (alternate angles are equal)
In \(\triangle ECD,\angle D=\angle A=53^0\) (Alternate angles are equal)
\(\angle E+\angle C+\angle D=180^0\) (sum of the angles of a triangle)
x° + 38° + 53° = 180°
x° = 180°- 91° = 89°
x = 89°
8.

Through T draw TE|| AB.
\(\therefore \angle BAT+\angle ATE=180^0(AB||TE)\)
\(140^0+\angle ATE=180^0\)
\(\angle ATE=180^0-140^0=40^0\)
Similarly \(\angle ETC+\angle TCD=180^0(TE||CD)\)
\(\angle ETC+150^0=180^0\)
\(\angle ETC=180^0-150^0=30^0\)
\(x=\angle ATE+\angle ETC\)
= 40° + 30° = 70°
x = 70°
9.
Steps for construction:
Step 1: Draw the ΔPQR with the given measurements.
Step 2: Construct altitudes from any two vertices P and Q to their opposite sides QR and PR respectively.
Step 3: The point of intersection of the altitude H is the orthocentre of the given ΔPQR.
