Sikkim Manipal University (SMU)

The Sikkim Manipal University was established in 1995. It is the first government-private initiative in the region. SMU is recognized by the University Grants Commission and approved by the Govern- ment of India. Sikkim Manipal University offers quality education to the students from North and North Eastern parts of India.

SMIT is situated in the valley of the Kanchendzonga mountains, with an exuberant view of river Teesta flowing just at the steps of the institute.

SMU’S Distance Education programme main emphasis is to make available quality education to learners who have constraints of work, geography or those with financial and family constraints as well as learners with limited access to higher education.
