Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences is now called as Swami Ram Himalayan University. 60 seats are reserved for permanent residents of Uttarakhand. Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU) is conducting Pre-Medical Entrance Exam (PMEE) annually for the admission to the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S) course offered at the institute. 40% M.B.B.S seats are offering to the candidates belongs from the state of Uttarakhand and the remaining seats are for students from other parts of India.
