About College

Annasaheb Awate Arts, Commerce & Hutatma Babu Genu Science College, Manchar was established in 1966 managed under Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, in memory of a veteran educationist and social activist Annasaheb Awate of this region who had devoted all his life in the development of Ambegaon tehsil in Pune district with the hurricane efforts of hundreds and thousands of activists. The memorial contributions of honourable Annasaheb Awate have been brought into realities and his dream has come true in the form of this educational institution.

Dr. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil founded Rayat Shikshan Sanstha in 1919 for the upliftment, development and progress of the Bahujan community of Maharashtra. Mr Patil started their mission by founding a boarding for the poor students and the students from the downtrodden communities and then went on opening primary schools, high schools, higher secondary schools, colleges and institutions for technical education etc. The college has become a place of educational centre in Ambegaon, Junnar and Khed tehsils. Located in the beautiful natural campus, Annasaheb Awate College has been imparting education through different faculties consistently.
