Bhai Asa Singh Girls College, an oasis of education in the arid region of Malwa, is situated on   the South-Western side of Goniana Mandi, District Bathinda, Punjab.This college is run under the "BHAI JAGTA JI EDUCATIONAL SOCIETY, GONIANA MANDI, DISTT. BATHINDA. " Registered by society Registration Act 1860 and amended by Punjab Amendment Act 1957.

The college, founded by   Revered Mahant Bhai Asa Singh Ji 'Sevapanthi' till he demise on January 15, 2008, has played a   significant role in spreading the light of education in an area, where girls were not allowed to   step out of homes sometimes ago. So, The contribution of the college has been marvelous in   Women emancipation as well as Women empowerment. The college has been making a   steady   progress since its inception.

The college boasts of a beautiful building, a marvel of architecture, which fascinated the ex.   Vice   Chancellor(V.C.) of Punjabi University Patiala, Mr. Swaran Singh Bhoparai, so much that   he   commented about this in The Visitors Book. The college is spread over 2,15,00 sq feet,   having 15 Rooms, Auditorium, Canteen, Common Room, Computer Lab and a Library consisting   of 12313 Books. The college was affiliated with Punjabi University Patiala in 1975 and was   covered the Punjab Govt's 95% deficit grant-in-aid scheme in September 1978. The unit grant   commision also gave recognition to the college under section 2f and 12b of UGC act 1956. The   National Assessement and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accredited the college with a B+   (78.85%) in 2003 which put it on a higher level than many other colleges in this area.
