Bharathiyar Institute of Engineering for Women was established at Salem in 2008 with the aim of providing value added technical education with a flair of professional excellence and ethical values. The College is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. It offers under-graduates and post graduates in engineering departments which are approved by AICTE. Women’s Education plays an important role in the progress of a nation. Women should be educated on par with men. This institute is striving hard to attain a unique status in the international level by means of infrastructures, state-of-the-art computing facilities and techniques. The vision of the college is to impart quality education, enhance technical competitiveness of students, faculty members and staff and inculcate a sense of discipline, devotion and dedication to meet the challenges in life. Our mission is to provide value based education and mould rural women into technically competent and ethically strong professionals who will deal constructively with professional and social issues.

Bharathiyar Institute of Engineering for Women has separate hostels for Girls inside the campus, with well furnished and spacious rooms. The hostels have excellent water facility, modern kitchen and dining. The students are provided with the choice of vegetarian and non vegetarian food. The rooms are furnished with individual cots, tables, chairs, and bureau. Importance is given in maintaining discipline and security of the students. The resident warden of each hostel takes care to see that all the needs of the students are met and a homely atmosphere with a sense of security is created. Immediate medical care is given to hostel students on requirement. The placement cell of  Bharathiyar Institute of Engineering is constituted to provide the right perspective regarding the various career options available to the students and sufficiently train them to choose and pursue their careers of choice. The training program encompasses a three stage process to train the students to make them ready for the industry and develop the etiquettes of the corporate world. The placement department supports students with resources and ideas, a database, notification of new placements etc. The college committed to the total upliftment of the society by imparting quality professional education, aiming at modeling totally competent professionals with ingenuity, adaptability, social commitment and ethical spiritual values by creating a congenial academic ambience that kindles innovative thinking, continually upgrade the quality management system through empowerment and involvement.
