About College

Chamarajendra Academy of Visual Arts ( CAVA ) Mysore , is a traditional centre of arts and crafts. It has carved out a unique place as a distinct  cultural centre. With a view to preserve this unique status, they established the Chamarajendra  Technical Institute , offering courses in carving , painting , bamboo works ,  inlay works , mat weaving , smithy , carpentry , sheet metal and other trades. Over the years , the Institute became famous by producing some of the best artists and craftsmen who brought laurels to Mysore.

The Institute's art courses were brought under the purview of CAVA with modified syllabus and training programmes. Art education was put on a better academic status. The Academy also conducts camps and exhibition of works executed by its students and leading artists.
