Coimbatore Institute of Engineering and Technology (CIET), Coimbatore was established in 2001 managed by Kovai Kalaimagal Educational Trust. It has been approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore. The aim of CIET is to provide value-based education to its students and to develop the overall personality of the students by enhancing their creativity, self-confidence, assertiveness, communication and leadership skills. The drive is to bring out HUMANE and astute technocrats and professionals who will be a disciplined positive force in all walks of life. Their mission is to achieve high level of competency as measured by good academic score, absence of arrears and recognition to the special talents of students, add-on knowledge and effective communication skills. The scope extends well beyond aiming at academic excellence and is directed towards making better citizens of tomorrow. Programmes are planned with the specific objective of imparting up-to-date knowledge, improving the skills and developing a better and positive attitude in students. Coimbatore Institute of Engineering and Technology offers academic opportunities to its students that are unsurpassed at many colleges. In the classrooms, the students work closely with dedicated faculty members that help their knowledge expand in both range and depth. Students are encouraged to come forward with bright and innovative ideas and are given the best assistance to implement them. At CIET many resources are available to translate the students’ goal into reality.

CIET has separate hostels for Boys and Girls inside the campus, with well furnished and spacious rooms. The hostels have excellent water facility, modern kitchen and dining. The students are provided with the choice of vegetarian and non vegetarian food. The rooms are furnished with individual cots, tables, chairs, and bureau. Importance is given in maintaining discipline and security of the students. The resident warden of each hostel takes care to see that all the needs of the students are met and a homely atmosphere with a sense of security is created. Immediate medical care is given to hostel students on requirement. The placement cell of CIET is constituted to provide the right perspective regarding the various career options available to the students and sufficiently train them to choose and pursue their careers of choice. The training program encompasses a three stage process to train the students to make them ready for the industry and develop the etiquettes of the corporate world. The placement department supports students with resources and ideas, a database, notification of new placements etc. The college committed to the total upliftment of the society by imparting quality professional education, aiming at modeling totally competent professionals with ingenuity, adaptability, social commitment and ethical spiritual values by creating a congenial academic ambience that kindles innovative thinking, continually upgrade the quality management system through empowerment and involvement.
