Initially set up a small out patient clinic called ’Seth Deepchand Gangaram Hinduja Healthcar.

Hinduja hospital took a full-fledged step into healthcare a year later when it was handed over to the then newly formed ‘National Health & Education Society’. Subsequently named P. D. Hinduja National Hospital and Medical Research Centre, the once small OPD unit was expanded into a 300 bedded tertiary care hospital housed in a 16 storey building. Following the principle of  ’temple of modern healthcare’, P.D Hinduja hospital was a pioneer in the practice of having full time consultants in Mumbai.
