Gangamai College of Education

Gangamai College of Education is a grant- in- aid co- educational institution. The College has not obtained recognition from U.G.C. as on to - day. The college has 20 permanent teachers, 6 C.H.B. teachers and 15 administrative staff. The College had a strength of 576 students during the previous academic year 2003-04. The admissions are in progress during the current academic year 2004-2005. The College is located in 5.13 acres of the Trust land in rural region.

The College has central library, Botanical garden, Bank facility, Sports facilities. The unit cost of education during 2003-04 including salary component was Rs.15545.00 and excluding salary component was Rs.6410.00. Gangamai Educational Trust's Arts, Commerce and Science College, Nagaon volunteered to be assessed by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore. As per the procedure laid down by NAAC, the College conducted self study and prepared self study report.

The report was submitted to NAAC in September, 2003. NAAC has constituted a peer team consisting of Prof.Bharat C. Chhaparwal, former Vice-Chancellor, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore ( M.P. ) as Chairperson, Shri.B.Raghavendra Rao, Former Principal, Hindu College, Guntur (A.P) as Member Co-Ordinator and Dr.D.M.Basavaraja, Professor of Commerce, Acharya Tulsi National College of Commerce, Shimoga (Karnataka) as member. The peer team visited the College on 5th and 6th July, 2004.
