Government College for Girls

Government College for Girls, Patiala was established in 1942  as an Intermediary College with 22 students and 6 subjects in Arts & Humanities; today the college offers a total of 11 courses, both at UG and PG level in Arts as well as Science streams, to about 3000 students. The college is proud of its teaching faculty, headed by the Principal, a D. Litt degree and a Sahit Academy Awardee, who is a guiding spirit for a very highly qualified, hard-working and dedicated staff, which includes 30 PhD's and 30 M.Phil out of a total staff of 79 lecturers.The college was assessed by the NAAC in March 2003 and accredited with B+ grade.
