JSS Institute of Speech and Hearing - While there is a large percentage of population , which is affected with speech , language and hearing disabilities , the availability of professionals to address their needs is woefully inadequate.

The speech and hearing professionals are trained to address issues related to habilitation and rehabilitation of individuals of all age groups ( from infants to the very old ) with speech and hearing problems.

The specialists of this field initiate speech and hearing capacities in individuals who have not developed them and make efforts to reinstate the lost abilities and speech and hearing ( Example: Assisting children who have not learnt to speak because of various reasons , providing voice to those who have lost it after surgical removal of voice box and providing speech training to individuals who have lost the ability to speak ).
