About College

The School of Distance Learning & Continuing Education (SDLCE) was established in the year 1988 to help the students who could not get opportunity to pursue higher studies through regular stream. The school offers 75 programmes at different levels through 70 study centres including 16 MoU centres with a total number of about 35000 students. Apart from class-room teaching, audio-video programmes are organized separately as part of the learning process. The school broadcasts lessons and arranges phone-in-programmes through All India Radio, Warangal station. It brings out regularly a research journal Kaktiya Journal of Distance Education and a newsletter.

The School has established a Media Produciton Centre with the financial assistance by DEC and has been producing audio & video lessons. The institution has evolved a number of creative activities for others to adapt. The School has undertaken collaborative research with likeminded organisations such as Indian Distance Education Association, Open Learning Society and apex bodies like Distance Education Council, New Delhi and Commonwealth of Learning, Canada, and Athabasca University, Canada.

The SDLCE has been recognized as a Nodal Agency for undertaking Training and Research in the field of Distance Education with the establishment of Distance Education Quality Support & Training Institute (DEQSTI) with full financial assistance from the Distance Education Council, New Delhi and under its auspices it has organized several programmes.
