About College

MIET Institutions since it's founding in 1984 has come a long way in building careers and opportunities to students who have entrusted their faith in us. Er. A. Mohamed Yunus, the founder and chairman, a renowned industrialist and entrepreneur, hails from Muttanchetty, Namakkal District, Tamilnadu. He ventured into diverse business opportunities and emerged as a successful industrialist all through his career. The founder has immense faith that only quality education will improve the living standards of those who are economically challenged and minorities. His philanthropic vision paved the way to the establishment of MIET institutions.He finished his BE from GCT, Coimbatore and Msc Engineering from Madras University Chennai 1969. Immediately he began his career as associate lecturer at Central Polytechnic College, Chennai and served for one year. Couple of years later, he ventured into boiler fabrication industry as managing partner to cater to the needs of BHEL, Trichy. Simultaneously, he set up a construction company as managing partner in 1976 servicing the PWD departments in civil construction. In 1984 he founded MIET society which lead to the estabilshment of MIET Polytechnic College in the same year. Nine years later, he embarked on MIET Arts and Science college and in 1998 he commenced MIET Engineering College. After couple of years, he founded MECT trust through which MAR polytechnic college was set in motion at Boothakudi village near Viralimalai in the year 2004. Four years later, he launched MAR Engineering College in the same campus.
