About College

The Government Degree College, Kodur(RS), YSR Kadapa (Dist.) is one of premier educational institutions in Kadapa district in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The college was established in the year 1983 by the sincere efforts made by Sri Chamarthi Chengal Raju, the former College Committee president and Committee members. The land of 9.17 acres was donated by the philanthropist Sri Rachaputi Govenda Rao in 1994. It was started with an initial strength of 72 students of B.A. and B.Com. Courses only.

The college was affiliated to S.V. University, Tirupati at that time. During the year 1993-94, B.Sc. Course was started with M.P.C. and B.Z.C. (Biological and Physical Sciences). At that time the total strength of all courses (B.Sc., B.Com. and B.A.) in the college was about 428 students on roll. Kodur is situated at a distance of 88 Kms. south-east from Kadapa and 54 Kms. north-east from Tirupati, the holy town, abode of Lord Venkateswara.

The main aim of this college is to promote the education comprehensively in this rural area. Besides that the personality development of the students is being achieved through co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
