About College

Orissa University of Agriculture & Technology shortly called as OUAT came into existence in the year 1962 with the objective of offering agricultural education to the people belonging to the state of Orissa. The university has connection with University of Mississippi and Missouri belonging to the United States to further strengthen its extension, research and teaching activities. 
Separate wings for monitoring & evaluation, extension education & planning and research are functioning under the university. Initially, the college began with two constituent colleges and now eight colleges are working under its jurisdiction. In addition, a postgraduate center is functioning under the university with three departments namely microbiology, bioinformatics and MCA. 
The university has introduced postgraduate courses in the frontier areas of science like agri-business management, computer science & application, bioinformatics, biotechnology and microbiology through the PG center.
