About College

R. K. Arya College is situated at Rahon road. It came into existence in 1952 and its foundation stone was laid by Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. The Total area that comes under the college is 30 hectares. There is a big swimming pool, a shooting range, big college building, hostel and a vast play ground. There are Arts, Science, Computer Science and Commerce groups in the college. The number of the students is about 1000 and 45 well qualified teachers are serving the institute. 

The Handball team of the college is the champion of Guru Nanak Dev University since 1986. Three players have also participated on national level. On the other hand, among the 12 players of Guru Nanak Dev University 9 players are of R.K. Arya College. The R.K. Arya College is also champion in Kho-Kho.Students hold university positions not only in academic field but also in sports. Emphasise is given to academic as well as on other co-curricular activites for the overall development of the students.

Sh. Prem Bhardwaj, President Managing Committee, soft spoken dedicated to Arya Samaj has always been eager in advancing the interests of the college. It is under his Dynamic leadership that Post Graduation in Punjabi and PGDCA was started in the session 2003-04.
