Saveetha Dental College, Chennai has been one of the pioneer dental institutes of South India. The institute has been ranked as the 'Best Self-financing Dental College by the High Level Committee of Tamil Nadu. The college enjoys a tremendous reputation for setting standards for dental education in India. Many commendable researchers have appreciated the growth of the college in a short span of 18 years. The Saveetha Dental College and its other institutions were granted University status by University Grants Commission, which paves the way for autonomy in designing courses and improving the academic standards.

The Dental College has been given the highest score among all dental colleges in the state by the High Level Committee appointed by Government of Tamil Nadu. The credits are still mounting as well recall the fact that University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh has selected there college as a model Dental institution in the country. Today, with the approval of Royal College of Glasgow, for training the Part B & C MFDS students, our college has gained the students prestigious position of being recognized internationally.

The birth of this institution stems from the undaunted vision and efforts of there Founder and Chancellor Dr.N.M.Veeraiyan, President of Saveetha Medical & Educational Trust. The legendary man had it in his mind's eye, the vision to build a model Dental College for the betterment of Dental education in this country.
