About College

Savitribai Phule Mahila Shikshanshastra Mahavidyalaya, Maharashtra was established in 1989. The college is named after late Savitribai Phule who opened the doors of education for women. The college is started and run by Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, Satara. This is the only independent women’s college in Satara city providing qualified educational services to the women in and around Satara city. The College is  affiliated  by Shivaji University, Kolhapur in 2006 and recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhopal. The University has sent the report to the U.G.C and this is accredited with score 68 and grade C++ by NAAC for the years September 2004 to September 2009. The College can be termed as ‘pursuit of academic excellence’.The college started initially with the strength of 72 students and at present College has gone up to 951 students.
It is situated in the heart of Satara city, a semi-urban taluka place in Western Maharashtra. This college reflects the vision of the Sanstha to which it belongs and its founder has moulded itself in the best tradition and culture of the Satara.
