Sharadchandra Pawar Mahavidyalaya

Sharadchandra Pawar Mahavidyalaya is one of the leading educational institutes in Asia. Sharadchandra Pawar Mahavidyalaya, taking into consideration the need of the higher education in this hilly and drought affected Tehsil, Khandala. This college is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Otherwise unwillingly they had to stop their  education. Especially , the girls were deprived   of higher education.

In the initial stage, the college was run on non-grant basis. There were many obstacles/difficulties to run the college. There was no building  of its own. The persons from Lonand and nearby villages took critical efforts  to develop this college. They donated for the college in various ways like establishing Lonand Vikas Trust, taking initiative to get 18 acres of land for the college building etc. Till the college got shifted in its new building in 1996 , the classes were run in Malojiraje Vidyalaya and Junior College, Lonand, one of the schools of our Mother institution.
