The Salvation Army Catherine Booth Hospital is situated at the heart city of Nagercoil municipality which is 24kilometers from Kanyakumari the southern most tip of India. It was started in 1895, when missionary Harry Andrews treated the first patient in a tiny bathroom. Since then it has grown into a 300 bedded General Hospital with all departments of Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Dental, Dermatology, other on call specialities and facilities with well trained, dedicated Medical, Nursing and Allied health staffs.

Many progressive steps are being taken even today for the benefit of the down trodden, sick and needy. Programmes such as Rural community health clinic, Rehabilitation, Physiotherapy and Vocational training centre for the handicapped have been introduced keeping in mind the needs and sufferings of the deserted and poor.
