Yashwantrao Chavan Mahavidyalaya was an outstanding experiment, which involved social revolution of bringing up the students from all religions, castes, creeds and classes not only to live under one roof but also to work, to study, to cook and eat together. In those days no one could even dare to think of such social equalization. It was a still nobler gesture, as the students were not charged either for their education or for their lodging and boarding. On the other hand, the students were provided with some work, which directed them to “Education Through Self Help” which has become the very motto of the Sanstha. For the welfare of the weaker sections, Karmaveer started educational units at remote places to enable the masses to get education in their own region at minimum cost. Consequently, today the mother institute ‘Rayat Shikshan Sanstha’ has under its wings a number of colleges, hundreds of schools, and training institutes. It is not only the biggest educational institute in Asia but also unique for its educational philosophy experiments and social achievement.
      To impart liberal and vocational education from pre-primary to university level to rising
generation.To impart the knowledge among the students of new generation.To provide education to the people from remote places, tribal, rural, semi-urban and urban area by establishing educational institutions.
      To provide education to all the classes of society especially to downtrodden,economically and socially backward sections of the society.To provide education to women by establishing girl’s schools, high schools and colleges.To inculcate values like social equality feeling of brotherhood and self-help by establishing boarding.
